Duda or not Duda. The real help for Ukraine

New President of Poland Andrzej Duda has dually expressed his point of view about Ukraine so far. He has his clear position – to give the moral support to Ukraine, but not the support of weapon and army. It's too early to say, how Poland will support Ukraine.

Duda’s position is clear “I'm for the peace in Ukraine, but only through diplomatic methods”. When these diplomatic methods are used, the EU and the USA can “sleep calmly”.

“Now, when we are talking about relations with Ukraine, it's in our interest that Ukraine will be the member of the EU, but the absence of war there, is also in our interests. Within the framework of activity, towards the end of this conflict and termination of aggression in Ukraine, the EU and NATO must act as mediators”,-said Andrzej Duda in one of his latest interviews. The position of NATO is clear too- to support Ukraine and convict the aggression of Russia.

There are a lot of political scientists, who say, that Vladimir Putin(1) is waiting, when NATO will go beyond permitted borders and consequently then Russia will have its hands free. That's why both the EU and the USA are very careful in the issue of Putin's aggression.

From the positive moments we can underline, that the USA has strengthened sanctions; from the reality- will they be effective?

Until recently, the EU has literally been shouting about its big love to Ukraine, convicted the Russian Federation of the annexation of the Crimea and of the war in the Donbas region. But the current situation is more different: French and German Deputies freely arrived to the Crimea and wore T-shirts with the “trolling of Barack Obama”. About what kind of support can we talk?

And Andrzej Duda will become another sympathetic politician, who comes to Ukraine rarely in order to judge negativelly the Putin's politics, shakes the Poroshenko's(2) hand and go home to drink beer with sausages.

There is only one thing, which scares Poland: it is Russian's invasion into the whole territory of Ukraine, because it can similarly enter their own lands. The Polish still remember the aggression of Germany in 1939 and consequently will try to avoid a similar situation.

Bronislaw Komorowski(3) had the same politics, however tried to cry louder about his real plans. But as a result, Andrzej Duda has won and we can only hope that he will move from words to acts.
